Partners Gallery is showing “In the Abstract,” a three-person show juried by Marvin Schenck, recently retired curator for the Grace Hudson Museum in Ukiah.

 

Franci Claudon’s paintings in acrylic and mixed media on cradled birch are an exploration of beauty and possibility. Pieces are created through building and subtracting layers resulting in finished work that is rich and textured, expressing moods from loud and bold to still and mysterious.

 

 

Bonnie Lammar’s "naught-i-call (to mind)" abstract images are digital files of mixed media using layers and textures over a photograph.  With a painterly effect, they translate a feeling of space and stillness, a breath and a moment to listen to messages coming from within.

 

 

As a lifelong surfer, Jack Gilmour is enthralled with the flotsam and jetsam found on Pacific Ocean beaches, each piece telling a story. He enjoys the recycling process of transforming trash into treasure. His assemblages are constructed in a painterly fashion, resulting in colorful abstract expressionist compositions.

 

Partners Gallery is located at 335N. Franklin Street in Fort Bragg and is open Wednesday through Monday 10 am to 5 pm and Sundays 10 am to 4 pm.
