Gardens Galore in Japan and South Korea

The autumn leaf color is splendiferous in the Kyoto temple gardens, palaces and villas – brilliant by night as well as by day. Shirley will show both dry gravel and moist moss gardens. The Ritsurin Garden in Takamatsu and the Nijo Castle garden in Kyoto are expansive and beautiful with wonderful teahouses from which to enjoy the view.

 

Raw nature "god's gardens" in Japan are wonderful, too. “The whole island of Miyajima is considered a god,” explains presenter Shirley Freriks. “On Jeju Island, South Korea, the Spirit Bonsai and Rock Garden is one of the best in the world, and the Botanical Garden is unique in my experience.”
