Funkacillin - "old school" funk, rock and soul tunes

First time in Mendocino Stories and Music Series, Funkacillin will head to the stage at Hill House on Saturday, May 17. James Brown once said, "The one thing that can solve most of our problems is dancing". Well, Funkacillin aims to put your troubles on the back burner with a mix of originals and "old school" funk, rock and soul tunes by heavy hitters including The Isley Brothers, Curtis Mayfield, Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin and Cold Blood.

Funkacillin features Lex Krauss (guitar) of Mendozone and formerly Rootstock; Cherie Sheraque (vocals) formerly of Groove Approved and currently of Samba Jamba; Jim Dooley (trumpet and keyboard) of all of the above along with Pura Vida and Los Piratas; Blair Rowland (drums) formerly of Tubesteak Jones and currently with Dumbstruck Genius; Nick Ford (bass) formerly of GDX, and a special guest (percussion).
