A Capella Fever at Mendocino Music Festivall

A Capella FeverWednesday, July 16, 2014, 3:00 PMMatheson Performing Arts Center at Mendocino High SchoolThe Mendocino coast is home to several excellent small a capella groups, all singing for the pure love of it while holding down their day jobs. Men’s Acafellas, women’s In the Mix, women’s trio River, and SATB Sine Nomine will sing music from four centuries, everything from do-wop, to gospel, to hit tunes from the ‘40s, to madrigals.The singers in A Capella Fever all were inspired by the House Jack’s workshop last year. As House Jacks member Deke Sharon put it, “You want to touch people’s hearts, grab their souls, and take them on a wild roller coaster ride through truth and beauty.”The Mendocino Music Festival runs July 12 - 26.
