    Scotty Wright Quartet

    Friday, June 22

One dinner show at 8 pm

2 – 40 minutes sets and a brief intermission. Seating begins at 6:45

Scotty Wright, vocals; David Udolf, piano; Fred Randolph, bass; Leon Joyce Jr, drums

A veteran musician for over 30 years, one can hear the entire spectrum of jazz singing in the performance of vocalist Scotty Wright. With a warm, rich-toned voice and relaxed delivery, Scotty possesses a unique sound that is deeply rooted in the jazz tradition. His style features harmonic sophistication, a playful rhythmic approach and insightful phrasing of the lyric.

When Scotty takes the audience into the world of the blues, there is no doubt he has been there before. While he’s singing a romantic ballad, the listener feels each note, hearing and believing every word. And in his uptempo songs, he generates an energy that ignites the room, especially during his thrilling forays into wordless ‘scat’ singing.

Scotty’s repertoire includes interpretations of classic songs by Gershwin, Porter, Kern and Rodgers & Hart; jazz standards by Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Horace Silver, Thelonious Monk, Wayne Shorter and Billy Strayhorn, as well as his own well-crafted songs. In everything he sings, one is certain that the song has never been heard quite the same way before, nor will be again. It is this element of the unexpected, what Scotty calls the ‘music of the moment’, that is the essence of great jazz.

While his style is informed by the masters of jazz singing – Louis Armstrong, Sarah Vaughan, Jimmy Scott, Carmen McRae, Johnny Hartman and Billie Holiday, among others – Scotty’s way with a song is unmistakably his own.

    Current Health Order

This week Governor Gavin Newsom announced that counties approved for accelerated reopening can begin to reopen hair salons and barbershops. In addition, statewide Places of Worship can reopen with modifications and in-person protests can occur with modifications.

In response to these recent State Changes, Health Officer Dr. Noemi Doohan issued a revised Shelter-In-Place (SIP) Order Thursday, May 28, 2020, reflecting the new Permissible Higher Risk Businesses and related activities. The major changes include:

    • Places of worship, such as churches, mosques, temples, and synagogues may open for limited capacity in-person religious services and cultural ceremonies provided that Statewide Places of Worship Guidance is followed.
    • Funeral Services expanded with strict adherence to the same limited capacity and other restrictions outlined in the Places of Worship Guidance.

    • Hair salons and barbershops may open for limited haircut-related services and are required to follow statewide guidance and complete a local business self-certification process at wwww.mendocinocountybusiness.org prior to opening.
    • In-person political protests are allowed with modifications and must adhere to safety measures identified by the State and outlined in the Health Officer’s Order.

The Health Officer has also expanded the very limited use of Shared Pools subject to the Order’s restrictions for pool-based physical therapy (as prescribed by a medical professional)

Mendocino County’s revised SIP will be in place until June 12, 2020.

The campaign is a perfect platform to market your services, gift cards, and products. It will directly link customers to your selling platform. (delivery, curbside pickup, etc. within the guidelines of the most recent Shelter In Place orders must be observed)
