  • Mendocino Art Center's February Gallery Exhibitions

    • Share:
Name: Mendocino Art Center's February Gallery Exhibitions
    Date: January 28, 2016
    Time: 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM PST
    Event Description:

During the month of February, the Mendocino Art Center exhibits the artwork of Jennifer Linley Taylor, Howard Wheatley Allen and Jill Wallin.

Jennifer Linley Taylor’s “Looking Back on 20 Years of Art,” features her collage and mixed media work created from 1995 to 2015. Collage is not only Jennifer’s artistic medium; it best describes her life – traveling extensively throughout the world, working as a fashion model and singer/sonwriter, and now as an artist. A native of Northern California, Jennifer studied at the Fashion Institute of Design before moving to Paris, France, where she was based for over 20 years. She has had multiple solo exhibitions in Spain, France, Australia, New York and Mendocino.

The Mendocino Art Center presents the complete “Bronze Bird Collection” of internationally renowned sculptor Howard Wheatley Allen, accompanied by select paintings by Rosemary Allen. Allen has achieved international acclaim for his bronze bird sculptures. His work, chosen for its strength, grace and symbolic content, has found its way into public, private, and corporate collections around the world. Allen’s sculptures have been chosen by world leaders to commemorate important events. Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and Bill Clinton are among those who have presented Allen's sculptures as gifts to heads of state. Ray and Donna Worster donated the collection to the Mendocino Art Center.

Jill Wallin dedicates her photography exhibition, “Art Through the Lens,” to her late husband, Karl, who introduced her to the world of fine art photography. Jill has spent much time exploring the old villages and towns in France and England, photographing old buildings with their wonderful textures and, conversely, many hours underwater, photographing strange and wonderful sea life in California, Florida, the South Pacific, Indonesia, Australia, the Caribbean and the Red Sea.
