FREE Film Screening "The Byrd Who Flew Alone"
Name: FREE Film Screening "The Byrd Who Flew Alone"Date: August 6, 2014Time: 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM PDTEvent Description:Mendocino Stories & Music Series presents a free film event featuring 'The Byrd Who Flew Alone'. Some footage was filmed in Mendocino and interviews include Mendocino residents’ memories of Gene Clark - a songwriter, musician and one of the founding members of The Byrds. This film will be shown at 3PM on Saturday, September 13 at Hill House Inn.
The feature length documentary explores the life and work of former Mendocino resident Gene Clark - singer-songwriter with The Byrds, one of the 60's most influential and iconic bands, and a pioneer in American music. It's been made with the support and involvement of Gene's family, as well as a whole host of friends and fellow musicians. Not least the three surviving original Byrds - David Crosby, Chris Hillman and Roger McGuinn.
“For the first time, the story of one of American music's greatest talents and most unfathomable enigmas is told on film. Drawing on over thirty exclusive interviews with fellow musicians, family and friends; previously unseen archive material; and three decades of fantastic, ground-breaking music. Long overdue, but hopefully worth the wait.†http://foursunsproductions.com/Gene-Clark-Documentary/
