Paint the iconic Kelley House water tower! Award-winning local artist Suzi Long will be your teacher and guide as you paint your own watercolor masterpiece. With patience and humor she will show you perspective and proportion strategies and a few tricks employed by artists everywhere! No experience necessary. Enjoy the beautiful view while sipping local wine from Fathers and Daughters Cellars. Sparkling cider will also be on hand. Supplies included. Member tickets come with a free book; general public tickets come with a complimentary membership to the Kelley House Museum. This event is in tandem with the summer exhibit, "Water Tower Wonderland" on display inside the Kelley House Museum, and open to the public Thursday - Monday, 11am - 3pm.
Suzi Marquess Long: A native Californian from Santa Cruz, Suzi has slowly moved up the coast since 1965. After 9 years in Hawaii where she founded her mural company WhimsyWalls, she finally settled in the Wind and Weather Water Tower in 2006, opened her own gallery there, and began teaching watercolor travel sketching to visitors. Suzi has taught local groups and in Baja, Carmel, Sea Ranch, Idaho, and other locations.
