SPRING DOCENT TRAINING: We are searching for enthusiastic and outgoing garden lovers who want to learn the art of leading tours in the great outdoors. The Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens needs more docents and will be holding a four-part training built for all levels of experience each Friday from February 9 through March 1. This is a fabulous year-round volunteer opportunity for anyone who appreciates the green earth and wants to help people of all ages, especially the little ones, develop a deeper connection with the natural world and a genuine excitement for gardens. Each year we welcome more than 800 students including our local elementary, middle school, high school, and college students. These educational groups receive free admission to the Gardens and a guide tour at no cost. We are thrilled to provide the local visiting youth, with a place to discover nature's wonder. The Gardens also provides guided tours for a multitude of community organizations, visiting charter tours, and weekly offerings to our guests for just the cost of admission. Because of the high demand for guided tours, we could use some help in growing our amazing team of docents!
