In November Partners Gallery is presenting the photo and wood constructions of Virginia Stearns, celebrating the individuality of trees.
For years Stearns has found herself photographing trees. In combining these photographs with boxes or branches, she focuses on presenting each tree's uniqueness and individuality, rooted for a lifetime to one particular location. Each bears witness in its form the story of a life with its shape, its strength and beauty, its scars, burn marks, lichen and moss growth, its will to survive the attacks or pamperings of humans, insects and other animals and the work of storm winds, droughts, floods, heat and cold.
This exhibition is a tribute with great admiration to these beautiful beings and models for a life of determination and adaptability.
