Mendocino Coast Green Drinks May 10th, 5-7 PM Redwood Coast Thermography 45055 Albion Street, Mendocino Ever feel like there is so much creativity and awesome inspiration on the Mendocino Coast, but not enough time or space to cross-pollinate ideas? Join us at the inaugural Green Drinks meeting, where we will mix and mingle with all the green-minded folks that make this community so awesome! There will be some light snacks and non-alcoholic sips. If your heart desires, feel free to BYOB. For more information about Green Drinks as a model, please check out details below. First, what is "Green Drinks"? It's a model that is used in cities all over the country and the world to get "green-minded" people together to gather, share ideas, and cross-pollinate in informal social spaces. It is inclusive of people from non-profit orgs, academia, government, and business. How does it work? Green Drinks is a way to informally network + catch up on what’s happening in the green space. These events are simple and unstructured, however, many have successfully acquired employment, learned new things, developed new ideas, done deals, or simply made new friends and reconnected with old friends. Sometimes there is a featured program which may be a presentation, guest speaker, short video, or other entertainment. Gatherings are once per month, and should not require a fee for participants, but rather, should be sponsored or “donation-based” to offset hosting costs. Most importantly, they should be a way to bring people together, cross-pollinate, and HAVE FUN!! What's the point? Do we really need another group? This is NOT just another meeting! And it's not a group or organization. It's just an open gathering of people to meet your neighbors who are doing awesome things that you don't know about, build community, and support green initiatives. While Green Drinks usually happens in cities, we think there's no reason it shouldn't happen right here on the coast, where there are so many great organizations and businesses that are making a big impact. This is an open meeting, we’d like to include anyone who is interested! Please invite friends and colleagues who would be interested even if you can’t make it.
