    Event Description:
Partners Gallery in March is hosting an exhibition entitled From the Ashes, artists’ responses to the devastating recent fires in Mendocino and adjacent counties. Some artists were close witnesses to the flames as they burned nearby, some had friends or family affected, some lost studios, some watched as their homes were incinerated, and others lost both studio and home, immersed in the end among only charred remnants.
The creative spirit of art, nevertheless, like the phoenix, has risen to produce what it can from the ashes, as artists employ the detritus of the fires, rescuing tiny bits in order to meld something fresh, new and memorable out of what can be salvaged. New possibilities are imagined; some works come out of a memory of what was, others, out of a dream of what might yet come into being.
For every fire, there is water.
For every loss, there is gain.
For every ending, there is a new beginning.

There is a First Friday Reception March 6th, 5-8pm.

HOURS: Wednesday through Monday 11 am to 5 pm and Sundays 11 am to 4 pm., or by appointment:  707 964-6448 or 707 962-0655.
