One of the country's longest rail-to-trail conversions has grown by three miles in sunny Ukiah. On Sunday, April 26th, 2026 Ukiah community members will gather to celebrate the grand opening of their fourth segment of the Great Redwood Trail, the country’s largest rail-trail project. When complete, the Great Redwood Trail will span San Francisco Bay to Humboldt Bay and beyond, offering non-motorized commuter and tourist experiences through some of Northern California’s most beautiful landscapes.
