The shows open on First Friday March 6th with receptions at each gallery from 5 to 8 p.m. The Equinox is the first day of spring when night and day are of exactly equal length\, before the days grow longer into the summer. It's the time of growth\, of dark and light in harmony\, of opposites in perfect balance. Artists at each gallery will be showing their interpretations of this theme.  You can see clocks with art historical themes playing with the word "equinox"\, the pattern and play of dark and light in paint\, jewelry\, fabric\, and ceramics.  On view will be expressions of yin and yang\, sun and moon\, gold and silver apples\, and the transition of harsh Alaskan winter into spring. Artists are working with a wide variety of materials including quilting\, cloth\, encaustics\, beads\, silver and brass\, pencils\, pastels\, paint\, paper and thread\, and woven and printed textiles. The Equinox shows will be up through the month of March.Partners Gallery is located at 335N.
