SUMMARY:"All Things Plant Life" Juried Show
DESCRIPTION:“ALL THINGS PLANT LIFE” LORRIE FINK - PAINTINGSTANYA LIN - PHOTOGRAPHYHOPI BRETON – SCULPTURE MARCH 31 – MAY 1FIRST FRIDAY RECEPTION APRIL 1\, 5-8pm Partners Gallery is proud to present three artists selected by curator Carrie Lederer for this juried show: “All Things Plant Life”.  Ms. Lederer is a widely respected artist and curator\, presently at the Bedford Gallery in Walnut Creek. Sculptor Hopi Breton is interested in the spiritual realm of landscape and seeks to connect human activity to the natural world. Using clothespins\, feathers\, root bulbs etc she combines the natural and the human made in spare and evocative works. Lorrie Fink‘s oil paintings depict abstracted interpretations of Corn Lilies and other native perennials\, distilling the attitudes and expressiveness of botanical forms to suggest aerial views\, geologic patterns\, and biomorphic shapes. In combining food and multicolored fires\, photographer Tanya Lin seeks to engulf but not consume organically earth grown plants we call food. Photographs of cauliflower and lemons are inspired by images of The Sacred Heart of Jesus emanating flames and rays. Partners Gallery is open Wednesday through Monday 10 am to 5 pm and Sundays 10 am to 4 pm.
